Tiffany Mei Yates is an illustrator, designer and crafter. Her influence run the gamut: Fantasy books, sci-fi movies and television,
comic of all shapes and sizes, and various articles on Wikipedia and the internet. Tiffany grew up surrounded by art, attending and
helping at art shows and spending many days after school in her mother’s studio, watching her make Chinese brush paintings.
It was her mother that persuaded her to apply for VCU’s School of Arts. Four years later, she graduated with a BFA in Communication Arts
and BS in Psychology. Hired right out of school, Tiffany became a Graphic Art Instructor at Germanna Community college as well as the
neighborhood’s friendly Gallery assistant at Libertytown Arts Workshop. Libertytown is also where her drawings, sculptures and paintings
can be located in studio 23. Absurdity is a reoccurring theme depicted in her work as both humorous and/or eerie. Tiffany views her
art making as compulsive, necessary as a form of communication but also to root oneself in the present and save kernels of truths for the future.
